Me @ Alex Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors

  • Well, I'm back from my Thanks Giving trip to New York City, and boy did I have a great time! Among many wonderful things I did, my dad and I visited artist Alex Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors for the second time. Alex Grey, who is one of my truest heroes, has been a huge inspiration ever since I first chose to find my own voice in art and I was so graced to be able to view his work again. Being there is a meditation in itself – and lucky for us, there weren’t too many visitors during our tour, so I was free to sprawl out in the center all the paintings and take in the spiritual gravity of the whole gallery. The experience was beautiful, and by the time I left, my head was spinning with energy. Although I’m now back in Austin (yes, home-sweet-home with my fuzzy green slippers on), I can’t help but reflect on this amazing moment in my life. Mr. Grey, I salute you and your incredible family!
